She has been in the laser business since 1997 and Laser Goddess has been in existence since 2004. Well, I am still waiting to meet the person that says "laser treatments feel good". People say it is worth it because they love the results. There are options for numbing. Don't under estimate the power of over the counter pain relievers. Most people tolerate it without topical anesthetic and we give strong and effective treatments.Â
What do I need to know before and afterÂ
laser hair removal?
Most people have reddened skin that lasts 30 minutes to 2 hours. Some of the hair comes out during thetreatment and the rest will come out during the next few days. Sometimes areas that have very dense and coarse hair, like some men's backs can have some slight redness that lasts a few days. It is similar to how you look after waxing or threading. Shave 3 daysÂ
before your treatment, you can shave between treatments (you probably won't need to). You can resume showers, workouts and skin care after 24 hours. No more waxing, tweezing or threading!
How does laser hair removal work?
The laser light is non invasive. It travels beneath the skin and it is attracted to the pigment in the hair. When it is performed with the correct laser wavelength and strength, it disables the cells that make hair. That is why it is accurate to say that laser hair removal is called 'Permanent Reduction'. It does not work on gray or blonde hair. It does work on red hair that is on the darker side. It requires several treatments because all of the hair is not in the anagen phase at the same time. Laser hair removal is one of the best inventions of the 21st Century!
Is laser hair removal safe?
Laser hair removal was approved by the FDA in 1995. It is safe with an experience provider, that understands fitzpatrick skin typing. The state of New York has not made any laws regarding who can use lasers. There are many courses and schools that claim to certify people, but none are regulated by the state or federal governments. New York requires a person to be licensed to provide a manicure or massage. Many states consider it the practice of medicine and only allow medical doctors or nurses to perform treatments.Â
Is laser hair removal safe for dark skin?
100% safe, we will use an Nd:Yag laser on your skin. An Nd:Yag a type of laser, it is the only safe laser for Fitzpatrick skin types 5 and 6. Is your skin tan from the sun? We can use this laser on you too, but it will only work if you have dark brown or black hair. There are many companies that make Nd:Yag lasers, the brand of laser we use is the Italian made Deka Excellium Synchro Replay 3.4.

Using the Picoway Resolve Laser by Candela Medical we can achieve skin tightening. Are you worried about downtime? You can apply makeup the next day. Most people experience no irritation by day three. This non invasive, non ablative (does not burn) laser treatment stimulates your cells to produce new collagen. Unlike other energy based devices (such as radio frequency and ultrasound) it does not melt fat or damage the underlying skin structures.Â

How many treatments will I need?
Many fine line tattoos require less than 6 treatments. Many heavily inked tattoos require more than 6, Sometimes even 14. Using the picoway laser by Candela gives the advantage of breaking the ink into the finest particles, making it easy for your body to remove.
How often do I need to have the tattoo lasered?
It is recommended to do the treatments 8 weeks apart. People notice a bigger difference when they wait longer. It is a lot of work for the body to remove the ink, It is better to let it rest. It is better to treat a large tattoo in sections, rather than laser a full back.Â
Is it painful?
Most people report It as painful. We provide medical grade numbing free of charge. Fine line tattoos are not as painful as thick deep lined tattoos. We apply the numbing 1 hour before and cover the area with plastic. Bony areas are more painful than soft tissue. Most people report dark tattoo as 8 to 9 on a scale of 1 to 10. When the numbing is used, they say 4 to 6 out of 8 to 10. Many people with small fine line tattoos say they can do it without numbing.Â

How can I speed up the process?
The Describe silicone optical patch (by Merz) facilicatates the removal of tattoo ink. The Perflurodecalin impregnated in the clear silicone patch has a high affinity for the ink as it is broken up by the Picoway Laser. Watch the ink explode out of the tattoo into the patch. Our experience is that treatment using the patch removes the tattoo in half the amount of sessions. The patches are the size of a business card, so it is best for smaller tattoos. The patches are an additional $250 per treatment.

PicoWay® Laser treatments offer a fast, low-downtime solution for addressing stubborn hyperpigmentation and dark spots using laser technology that mimics photoacoustic sound waves rather than heat. In the past laser technology was dangerous was dangerous for darker skin types  The number of treatments varies. Darker skin may may not see any difference until after four treatments. Lighter skin can see a difference with one treatment. In skin that hyperpigments easily a protocol of hydroquinone may be required during the course of the treatments to prevent further hyperpigmentation. Lighter skin can ofter see a major difference in only three sessions. We require you to have had your skin checked by your dermatologist within the past six months.Â

Laser Goddess is welcoming AviClear. It is personal. Beth's story- I had some acne during my teens. When I reached my 20's, I would have several new cystic pimples every week. I was always popping, picking and covering up with make up. I never left the house without makeup, there was dark spots everywhere. no downtime and purging is rare. We recommend getting a deep cleaning facial at some point during the series to clean your skin of comedones. The aftercare instructions are to wear sunscreen everyday. The Aviclear is safe for all skin tones. Most people find it uncomfortable, but not painful. Our clients are seeing a 90% improvement in the acne.
